Facebook Twitter WhatsApp Email An unrelenting Abdulmumin Jibrin, former chairman of the House of Representatives committee on appropriation, has revealed again that embattled Speaker Yakubu Dogara tried to break into his office in order to take away documents that could indict the House leadership. Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Abdulmumin Jibrin Jibrin made the revelation amid previous allegations of budget padding against Dogara and other principal members of the House who have come out to deny it. He also made more revelations in a series of tweets on Friday, July 29, 2016. The lawmaker had alleged that the speaker and others he named reportedly padded the budget with N40 billion while Dogara allegedly diverted a federal government project. READ ALSO: Dogara’s allies accuse external influence over House crisis In the fresh allegation, Jibrin said the speaker did not know that he had taken all necessary documents backing his allegations away from his office. “There has also been an attempt to break into my office at the House. “I know he wants to tamper with documents critical to his and the three others’ future investigation and prosecution but unfortunately for him we already have enough evidence in our possession. “The security and anti corruption agencies should kindly take note. “Speaker Dogara has ordered that all the computers in the appropriation secretariat be shut down and moved to his office as if that is the answer to the allegations I raised. Jibrin was a co-contender for the speakership position. He however stepped down for Dogara and became the member who actually nominated him for the position on the day of the election of principal officers of the eighth National Assembly. While Dogara and his supporters claim that Jibrin is bitter because he was removed for allegedly padding the 2016 budget, the latter actually expressed anger that his resignation as chairman of the committee had been politicised. He claims he resigned and was not sacked by the speaker. Here lies the beginning of the many revelations that is now following pressure for the speakers impeachment by some of the legislators.
